The Tundra Swan, Cygnus columbianus, is one of two native American swan species. It breeds in the northern part of Canada and Alaska and mates for life. In late February and early March each year, thousands gather at the Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area in Pennsylvania preparing for the long flight to their nesting grounds. Here six and one Snow Goose are outlined against the glow of the rising sun.
